Depending on what part of the Caribbean this dish comes from, certain ingredients are added and subtracted. It can be placed on top of rice, risotto or eaten with some type of bread (West Indians use Hardo Bread).
I had something similar served to me once in the Bahamas. As soon as I got home I tried to figure out what was in them and whipped up a batch of these and they came out delicious! Now there are always some on hand in my freezer.
