Ever since I was a kid, I loved to bake. My passion for culinary arts and nutrition definitely stem from my love of creativity in the kitchen. I have had this recipe written down on a looseleaf sheet of paper for as long as I remember. It’s my go-to for breakfast, dessert, or holiday gatherings. The healthy swaps like whole wheat flour and egg whites, as well as the use of real bananas are what make this recipe wonderful!

For Christmas every year Swedes eat a spiced raising bread that just tastes like the home and the holidays to me. And the ingredients can be found somewhat easily!
This is a family recipe that my grandmother handed down to me. My grandmother’s family immigrated from Finland to Minnesota and with them came their recipes. Ever since I was a little girl I loved to visit my grandma to help her make and have some of her Finnish Biscuit. Finnish Biscuit is a delicious loaf of bread with a cinnamon and sugar swirl on the inside. It is best toasted and with a layer of your favorite butter on top.
We would stop and buy these little treats at a gas station whenever we went down south in the summer. I just didn’t want to wait until then to get another one so figured out a recipe for it on my own.
